Our Society
Now in our 29th year, we are proud to be one of the most thriving and active golf societies in North Meath. What began as a local initiative has grown into a vibrant group of golfers, with members primarily from Nobber, but also from surrounding areas including Kingscourt, Castletown, Gibstown, Malahide, and beyond.

Our society is built on the values of camaraderie, sportsmanship, and accessibility. We’re passionate about making golf sociable and inclusive—whether you’re a seasoned player or just starting out, everyone is welcome.

Each year, we curate an exciting calendar of outings across a mix of courses—some local favourites we’re loyal to, and others a little further afield to keep things fresh and challenging. It’s all about balance, variety, and celebrating the fantastic selection of courses within reach.

We are incredibly grateful to our sponsors, whose generous support helps us keep the society running smoothly and ensure each event is well-organised and enjoyable. Their backing is essential and hugely appreciated.

πŸŒοΈβ€β™‚οΈ Great Day Out – Society Golf Roundup @ Seapoint ⛳️ What a brilliant start to the season – sunshine, solid golf, and a seriously tight leaderboard! Only a single point separated the top four golfers, with plenty of countbacks needed to split the pack. πŸ† Big congrats to our winner – Jimmy Smith – just back after a year out and showing no signs of rust, except on his clubs… β€œa bionic man” as someone said! πŸ˜„. Jimmy topped the board with 37 points. 2️⃣ Derek Griffin – also on 37 points, just unlucky to lose out on the back 9 countback. 3️⃣ JP Kerrisk – 36 points, and great to see him back swinging after a year out with injury. 4️⃣ Paddy McCormack – also on 36 points, right in the mix. Other winners on the day: 🎯 Nearest the Pin: Enda Maloney πŸ’£ Longest Drive: Gordon Weldon πŸ•˜ Front 9: Thomas Murtagh πŸ•• Back 9: Les McGillick 🐍 2’s Winner: Damien Carolan πŸ‘ Huge thanks to PJ O’Halloran for sponsoring the outing – much appreciated! πŸ™ And thanks to Seapoint Golf Club for a cracking course in top condition. πŸ™Œ A big welcome to our newest members Liam Murphy and Damien Carolan, and great to see John O’Reilly, Jimmy Smith, and JP Kerrisk back after an injury-ravaged 2024 (ladders, bullocks, you name it... πŸ˜…).
